In honor of the Golden Gate Bridge 75th anniversary, Speck gave out these AWESOME cases (: Although I’m at work all day, one of my co-workers was sweet enough to grab me one. Definitely getting her a cupcake. This case is legit. Happy 75th GGB! I’m coming to watch the fireworks later on!

"What I didn’t yet understand was the importance of taste and timing. Books are like people. Some look deceptively attractive from a distance, some deceptively unappealing; some are easy company, some demand hard work that isn’t guaranteed to pay off. Some become friends and say friends for life. Some change in our absence — or perhaps it is we who change in theirs — and we meet up again only to find that we don’t get along any more."

SaturDay Off

Today was one of the first Saturday’s I’ve had off in… forever. I’ve finally rearranged my schedule so I can enjoy what most people take for granted- a Saturday.

I went with my love, Evan and my other mum, Diana to my favorite place for brunch. If you know anything about me, Saturday brunch is one of my favorite things to do. Of all time. I regard brunch time as a sacred and coveted luxury- one to be savoured! Yes, that’s how rare I get to enjoy brunch these days.

Brunch is my favorite time to eat because I don’t have to wake up too early, I can still eat breakfast food, and it is perfectly acceptable to have mimosas or Bloody Marys. Actually, it’s encouraged by every real brunch restaurant. And I did just that.

I thoroughly enjoyed my bottomless brunch and bottomless mimosas at Ironside in the SOMA. The picture above is my first plate. I ALWAYS come back for seconds, and if it’s brunch, I will do thirds.

Since brunch is literally the perfect wayto start my day, I would have been set to sit around and do nothing (for once) all day. But the rest of my afternoon was spent doing better than that. We watched The Avengers (which was as fantastic as everyone said it was going to be. Believe the hype!) and caught Game 7 between the Celtics and the Sixers at another one of my hot spots: Acme.

Let’s be honest, I pretty much spent my Saturday day drinking and bonding with my other half. I loved telling myself: “It’s a Saturday. I don’t have work. I can do anything I want.” And I did. I must get used to having a Saturday off since this will be my schedule for the rest of the summer. Today was just the first weekend, and it was a splendid one.

Back to my summer goals: Goal 2- Read and write more. Write more? Check. I’m already writing more for myself than I have all semester just by typing my Saturday out. Read more? Check. I’m readingThe Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett. It’s pure San Francisco detective noir, and I love imagining Sam Spade for the suave satan that he is. Say that five times: Sam Spade is a suave satan. Yes. I just popped an alliteration sentence in there. Win.

Enough of this tumblring. I want to read. And cuddle with my love.

I want you. And your shoes lady.

I want you. And your shoes lady.

WOW. Basically going to be chillin at the Group Therapy stage from 11:30 pm- 4:00 am.
Which is crazy because opening night at EDC, especially from midnight onwards, has all the headliners playing… such hard decisions to be made…
